The film revolves around the journey life of Anissa (Revalina S. Temat), an intelligent woman of character, courage and strong opinionated. Anissa lives and raised in a conservative Islamic traditions in the family who ran a boarding called Salafiah Al-Huda and lives in East Java, Indonesia. The environment and the conservative tradition believe that true science and true only are of the Qur'an, Hadith and Sunnah, whereas modern books are considered deviant teachings.
